Instagram is always cooking up something new, and this time we may have a few winners on our hands. Let’s dive into the new list.
Reels got longer
This one isn’t a bit surprise, but it’s nice to see if here! You can now make even longer Reels – up to 90 seconds total. TikTok currently allows videos up to 3 minutes, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Reels continue to increase their length to match.
While shorter videos tend to do better in terms of views on Instagram, longer videos give you the opportunity to do a deeper dive on topics important for your business and close to your heart.

Poll stickers launch on Reels
Want to get more engagement on your Reels? Try out the new poll sticker feature! Just like you can add stickers in Stories, they have now rolled out a few sticker options for Reels as well. You can choose from Poll, Quiz or the Slider bar to add to your Reel. (Note: don’t panic if you don’t see this on your account yet as it is still being rolled out).
Have fun and get your audience to vote on your next colour release, guess a fun fact about your industry, or share how much the love something with the slider bar.
This one might be the most exciting of all. You can now pin up to 3 posts on your profile feed! (Again, another copy cat TikTok feature). You can choose to pin and unpin posts at anytime, creating an easy way for followers to find your most important posts.
If you are going to pin your content don’t just think about your best posts, include content that showcases:
- Who you are, what your organization is about
- What you offer
- Something you are proud of and want to show off (this could be a viral Reel, a testimonial, or your favourite product)
