I love breakfast. Savoury, sweet, and everything in between. We often do, “breakfast for dinner” on nights when we’re short on time and grocery options.
Most of my workdays for the last 5 or more years start with a bowl of fruit, yogurt and granola in some fashion. Occasional some overnight oats or hot oatmeal.
Having a routine made it easy to get my workday started with some basic nutrition on hand.
Then, around Christmastime, something happened.
I looked at my bowl of yogurt and I simply could not eat it.
It felt like overnight, I couldn’t fathom having yet another bowl of my favourite breakfast.
I started skipping breakfast all together, which was not a solution that I knew would work for me long term.
I hit the grocery store for inspiration and came how with a stack of fresh everything bagels and cream cheese. Where had this combination been all my life? (I’m clearly not here to offer you nutritional advice!)
What I realized was what I really needed was a change. The same old breakfast ideas that had served me well were no longer sparking joy. I needed to break out of the routine and try something new for a change.
It’s easy to get stuck in the routine of doing the same old posts and marketing tactics for your business as well. What worked for you in years past, might no longer be a fit for where social media channels are headed in 2021 and beyond.
I was working with a client earlier this week who knew she needed a refresh on social media. She had been posting content every day for the past several months just to have “something” be active on her accounts. In our strategy session together we came up with a plan for:
- What kind of content her audience actually wants to see
- How she can easily repurpose all of the webinars and presentations she has done into Instagram posts
- What her three guiding pillars of content will be
- How to direct more of her target audience to book with her
She also got early access to my Reels 101 course launching soon! (Stay tuned for more details next week!)
After 3 straight weeks of everything bagels, I’m got a better variety of breakfast choices in my arsenal, and I actually had some fruit and yogurt as I typed this email this morning.
